The Adelante Leaders Fellowship is the first ever program that combines youth development and community organizing. Dream Action Oklahoma has been able to create and lead, as a necessary space to expand our youth outreach efforts and evoke change within educational institutions.
Through the support given by the Edward W. Hazen Foundation, we have been able to compensate our fellows, coordinators, and leads for their work throughout this project, strengthening our efforts and uplifting each other along the way.
ALF focuses on preparing our selected fellows to take part in collective action to better institutions in their directly impacted communities, allowing them to build strength and momentum in order to create positive change within the spaces they interact in the most.
Through trainings, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences this fellowship facilitates an environment where youth can identify the needs of their community and execute plans of action to meet those needs.
