In this session, we'll explore how local, state, and federal governments create conditions that impact immigrant communities through policing, detention, and deportation. We'll delve into the carceral economy, examining the connections between government, governance, and profit in the detention and deportation of immigrant communities.
We'll also discuss strategies and opportunities to protect immigrant communities from HB4156 and other threats beyond 2024 in Oklahoma.

We'll discuss the principles of organizing to create alignment, defining the concepts of organizing and mobilizing, their overlap, and the key elements that distinguish them. We'll delve into direct action, learning how to create conditions for communities to engage effectively while assessing conditions and risks to empower the most impacted communities. Additionally, we'll create a space to discuss upcoming events where we can apply our new learnings and strengthen our direct action planning.

We'll explore cross-movement issues, identifying our shared values and vision for an Oklahoma that centers our people. This session provides an opportunity to discuss the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead post-elections and as we approach the next legislative session. We'll also have the space to dream and envision our future together, strengthening our movement relationships, centering our contributions to building power, and making commitments to build an Oklahoma that truly feels like home for us.
